1. What is Format Painter? When do you think Format Painter is useful in Excel?

Ans: The format painter helps you to copy all the formatting from one object and add it to another. Think of it as a formatting copy and paste. Pick the text or graphic you want to copy that includes the formatting. Note: Pick a section of a paragraph if you want to copy the formatted text.

2. Explain different preset styles available in Excel.

Ans: Select the cells on which to add a style.

Click Tab House. Tap on Cell Styles from the Styles group.

Comma - Apply commas above a decimal point to a number and two digits.

Comma [0] - The style of a comma which rounds to an integer.

Currency - Formats the number as a currency above the decimal point with a dollar sign, a comma, and two digits.

Currency [0] - Style of currency rounded to a whole amount.

Standard - Reverses all modifications to the format of a general number.

Percent - The number is changed to a percent and a percent symbol is added.

 

3. Explain steps to create a new style.

Ans: a)                Right-click anywhere in the column.

Click "Hide" from the menu.

b) Highlight the column on either side of the column you wish to unhide in your document. Select multiple columns by clicking on the letter at the top corresponding to each column and holding the shift key.

Right-click anywhere within a selected column.

Click "Unhide" from the menu.

c)      Right-click the tab for the layer you want to cover.

Select Hide from the background menu option, as shown below.

To unhide a secret layer, right-click on any of the sheets that are available. There will be an Unhide Conversation. Choose a sheet that should be unhidden from the list. In our scenario, just a single layer is seen to be unhidden.

8. How do you resize your worksheet columns or rows?

Ans: To manually change the width of columns, pick the columns to adjust.

*      Then put your mouse cursor between the headings of the column, to the right of the heading of the column or the heading of the column chosen.

*      When in the right position, the mouse pointer transforms into a double-pointed arrow with a separator thread.

*      Then, to change the width of the chosen column or columns, press and drag either right or left.

*      Select the rows to adjust in order to manually adjust the height of the rows.

*      Then put your mouse cursor between the headings of the list, or under the headings of the chosen row or row.

*      When in the right position, the mouse pointer transforms into a double-pointed arrow with a separator thread.

*      To AutoFit the column width, pick the columns to be changed.

*      Then put your mouse pointer between the headers of the selected column, to the right of the headers of the selected column, or the headers of the selected column.

*      When in the right position, the mouse pointer transforms into a double-pointed arrow with a separator thread.

*      Then, to automatically expand the selected columns to match their largest entries, double click the location.

*      To AutoFit the row height, pick the rows to be changed.

*      Then put your mouse cursor between the headings of the list, or under the headings of the chosen row or row.
