Ans:(a)A child studying in class V: Make a proper time schedule of each subjects.Time is the most valuable thing a person can ever waste, therefore, it is important that time be used effectively when it comes to the academics success of learners is important and sticking to a study timetable drawn is as important as creating one.
(b) A farmer:Use of electric labour saving devices helps to save both time and energy.
(c) A housekeeper:Perform the activities in a proper order. Some tasks are to be performed before some other activities and some after them. e.g. using mixer grinder to grind spices or a toaster to toast bread. This saves a lot of energy and time.

Ans:The advantages of preparing a time-plan are as followes:
(i)To finish all our work efficiently without feeling tired.(ii)To find time for rest and relaxation.(iii)To find time for our hobbies like playing out door games cricket, football, volleyball, and hockey, doing embroidery, listening to music, dancing, watching T.V. etc.(iv)To do more productive work in less time.(v)To save us from last time tensions and confusion.
2. Differentiate between heavy, moderate and light work. Give one example of each.

3. Why is it important to categorize activities of work?
Ans:Categorize activities of work enable us to make out the amount of energy required by the works. We cannot escape performing heavy duties. But we can save energy by using saving energy device to do these works.
4. What do you understand by the term dovetailing and how does it help to save time? Explain with a suitable example.
Ans:Dovetailing is the ability to do two or three activities at the same time.
Let’s see how we can incorporate dovetailing in our activities.
You have to
i) cook dal, vegetables, wash dishes and wash clothes in a washing machine.
ii) study, cook dinner, help sister with her homework.
There are two ways of doing these activities-
5. Your mother has to leave home for two days. All the family members have been assigned different tasks being performed by her. You have been assigned the task of cleaning the house.
Using the knowledge you have gained from this chapter, what approach will you use to save time and energy which your mother may not be using while doing all such tasks. Help your family members also to make a plan to save their time and energy.
Ans:Yes, cleaning house is an important work for all of us. If we stay in dirty and unclean environment, we are likely prone to certain diseases like malaria, typhoid, jaundice, etc.
Also, we should keep our bathrooms and toilets clean. Otherwise it may lead to diseases in which houseflies are the vectors like ascariais, filariasis, etc.
We can keep our house clean by -
(i). Regularly sweeping and mopping all the rooms.(ii). Sinks and toilets should be cleaned using disinfectants.(iii). Dusting the furnitures, shelves, screen of TV must be done.
